In tomorrow's Team Deakins sits down with cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel! Bruno tells us about working with the Coen Brothers on Inside Llewyn Davis, specifically how he approached lighting the theater they filmed at in Chicago and about location scouting for both True Grit and Ballad of Buster Scruggs. Bruno talks about where the look for Darkest Hour came from, his preference for lighting and framing as opposed to camera movement, how sometimes good ideas on paper don’t work when you put them into practice and you don’t know why! We learn that Bruno begins by drawing lighting diagrams by himself, to set the direction of light and framing and he likes to use a lot of silvers in front of the camera. Tune in tomorrow! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
