In tomorrow’s episode, Team Deakins is joined by Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín! In this episode, we learn that Pablo watches a cut of his film without sound to see if the visuals command the screen and he doesn’t like to repeat himself in his work. Pablo shares with us the lesson he took away from his making his movie Post Mortem as well as his inspiration for the plot and visual style of The Club and Tony Monero. He tells us about how he discovered that he enjoys shooting extreamly close to the actors, using one focal length, to create empathy and ambivalence in his audience. It’s a wonderful episode that you don’t want to miss!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
