In tomorrow’s episode, we speak with Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg! In this episode, we learn about his experience at film school, which raises the question, can film school teach somebody how to be a director? He tells us about his heroes in the industry and who inspired him, his relationship with Mads Mikkelsen, and how finds filmmaking gives him the ultimate sense of solidarity. We discuss Thomas’s inspirations for The Hunt and his obligation to make the film, as well as working with Anthony Dod Mantle, whom we spoke to in episode 68! We learn that Thomas tries not to repeat himself and his feelings on Denmark’s state-funded films and their allowance for artistically risky, explorative, and courageous films. Don’t miss it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
