Palaye Royale, Slam Dunk Festival 2024
REVIEW: Rounding out a week in which they announced their biggest UK headline show to date at the legendary Wembley Arena, Palaye Royale are clearly in a celebratory mood. Taking to the stage in their finest wears, the brothers are using their set to celebrate just how far they have come in the last half a decade of grinding. That’s why they are opening with breakout banger ‘Mr Doctor Man’, with added ‘People Are Strange’ by The Doors for good measure. That’s why ‘The Bastards’ highlight ‘Black Sheep’ is delivered with such ferocity and vigour. It’s why every step of their journey is represented and distributed like it’s the last they will ever do. The reaction is one of frenzy, with every word belted back to them like lives depend on it. It’s the sort of family party everyone is welcome to and the sort of rapturous display that has brought the band to the verge of superstardom.
