Extinction Rebellion protesters demanding action on climate change on Thursday blocked traffic in New York’s Times Square, attempted to shut down London’s City Airport and protested in Trafalgar Square in the British capital. One activist even climbed on top of a plane on the runway as part of a series of protests that the group says will be happening through Saturday at City Airport. Extinction Rebellion recently kicked off a series of coordinated protests called #InternationalRebellion, with demonstrations expected in 60 cities worldwide.
