Since it was towards the end of my 7-month solo trip, I was running out of time and only had 2 weeks to explore KL City, let alone Malaysia. I’d like to think that I didn’t have enough time to cover even 1% of the country, and was surprised with how much I felt at ‘home’ during my visit. When people plan out their backpacking trip in Southeast Asia, most only have enough time to visit Thailand + Vietnam (for obvious reasons), but Malaysia is SO underrated. It almost felt like I was in NYC but wayyy cheaper, everyone speaks English, the food is INSANE, and so much more.
