My biggest takeaway from solo traveling in Southeast Asia isn’t that I’ve been able to check off bucket list destinations, but it’s been more about learning how to love myself. Getting lost thousands of miles away from home challenged me to put my needs before anyone else’s, became super protective of my time and energy, and learned to love spending quality time with myself. Solo traveling isn’t for everyone but there’s no doubt I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone to try at least once. Even if it’s in the nearest city, it’s a moment in time you’ll never forget.
