I started (manually) tracking my everyday spend during the beginning of my travels in Southeast Asia. It was a way for me to have a better understanding of personal spend and to budget (which never ended up happening) because I’m generally not a huge spender, unless it’s for food.
✍️ A few things to note: I limited myself from buying souvenirs/shopping because of limited luggage space (until I got to Malaysia), barely partied (unless I was in Thailand 🤪), didn’t eat 3x/day, stayed at hotels rather than hostels, didn’t have to worry about covering for someone else (I actually find it cheaper traveling alone), and did EVERYTHING I wanted to do.
There wasn’t one thing I had to limit myself from doing because I was trying to “budget” but again, these are budget countries 🤷♀️
To be completely transparent, these daily averages are actually a LOT more than what they came out to be because 85%+ of my flights/hotels were free. These numbers reflect the total do...
