During my time in Siem Reap, Cambodia, I was told that there was a floating Korean Church only 30 minutes away from downtown. I've gone to many Korean churches in my life but never one on water. So the next day, I decided to rent a motorbike and make my over to Chong Kneas, the floating village located in Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake.
I'm not sure I can fully describe how I felt and my initial impressions when the boat finally got to the village โ I was speechless. I couldn't believe it was real, with 5,000+ people living in this village alone. As we were approaching the village, we came across people going to land to get fresh produce and supplies to bring back home before dawn, although we passed by a floating convenient store. There's even a floating school for the kids โ and the only way to get to school (and hang out with others) is by boat! ๐ถ
