The one thing no one really tells you about traveling is how to deal with and let go of attachment. Attachments exist, especially when you've spent enough time in a newly, familiarized place. When I first started traveling, I used to get so attached to people + places that it emotionally drained me when moving to the next city. But overtime, I've realized that this is part of the game.
It was truly surreal leaving Thailand after 2 months of living. From getting the 'vid' for the first time to being the furthest I've been away from home to not having any set plans, Thailand did a lot for me. Just a week before leaving home, I wasn't sure if it was worth flying across the world because entry rules were constantly changing. But if I chose not to take my flight, I would've finally called it quits and change the trajectory of my life.
