BACKBONE CONTRIBUTOR - CODY CHIVERTON codychiv is a Lead Forestry Technician on a Type 1 Interagency Hotshot Crew. He's currently in his 8th season on a Hotshot Crew with the Forest Service, 10th year in fire total. While fighting fires, he's also preparing to graduate from Oregon State University-Cascades with a major in Natural Resources (B.S.). "When I was approached by the creator of this series, I was immediately moved, so much in fact. I didn't really think about what kind of message I wanted to communicate. I wanted nothing more than to be a part of something bigger than myself, and if I could accomplish that using my words, personal story, and experience, it would be the most authentic way to inform the public.
