These are my top 3 tips for parents who are gearing up to potty train and that I wish I leaned into more during potty training with my first 2 girls.   1) Take the pressure off. It can feel like there is a lot of pressure around potty training, especially if you think you need to have it done in a certain window of time. Pressure on the parents to make it happen and pressure on the child to get it right. It might go great the first time around and it might happen quickly for your child, but there are many times where kids start potty training and it just doesn’t seem to be working (even when they were showing signs of being interested!) That doesn’t mean you didn’t do a good job, or they aren’t ever going to get it. Know that it’s OK to table it and revisit it at a later date and time.
