⚓️ DAYTONA BEACH SHIPWRECK UPDATE ‼️ In December 2022, two shipwrecks were spotted in Daytona Beach shores after extensive hurricane erosion in September and November. The Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program (LAMP) partnered with the Florida Bureau of Archaeological Research to study a ship that was emerging on the shore through the sand. It was discovered to be an 1800s cargo ship. The LAMP team returned this week to study a second ship that is underwater. With the help of Drone Operator Eric Wilson, the archaeologists located it and put on their dive gear in order to do some underwater research.
