We are making site improvements throughout the Museum grounds and have several projects underway. We are adding a “Brick Storytelling Plaza” on the front lawn as a new interpretative space for tours and programming. A part of this project is the addition of ADA-accessible sidewalks to the front lawn of the Keepers’ House. The sidewalks will connect with the existing ones and encourage more traffic to this beautiful area. Using a mixture of cement and crushed coquina on the new sidewalks and brick on the Plaza, the sidewalk north of the Keepers’ House will offer access to the newly installed Skipjack exhibit. This project is partly funded by The American Rescue Grant, administered by St. Johns County, which provides funding for exterior improvements that encourage more outdoor activities due to the pandemic.
