The Museum has started a
#ThankABoardMember series, where we highlight current Board of Trustee members. We asked the following questions to Kathy Shetler, immediate Past Chairperson of the Board of Trustees:
1. Tell us about yourself. (Where are you from, what kind of work you have done, etc.).
I was born in Wyoming but raised in Montana and Colorado. Most of my undergraduate and graduate schooling occurred in Colorado and Rhode Island. Working in the academic arena, I began my career as a teacher and then moved into management. At the educational institution where I worked, I set up its first Advancement Office that specialized in grant writing, public relations, and private fundraising.
2. Why did you become involved with the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum, and how long have you been affiliated with the organization?
