This past week, the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum’s Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program (LAMP) presented its collaborative research at the Society for Historical Archaeology’s annual conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! In conjunction with Dr. James Davidson of the University of Florida, Dr. Lori Lee with Flagler College, and Dr. Liz Ibarrola with the University of Texas, LAMP helped to conduct archaeological surveys, excavations, and analyses at Fort Mose, the first free legally sanctioned African American settlement in North America.
