Celebrating its 151st Anniversary of lighting the way on the Pacific Coast, the lighthouse is surrounded by water on three sides and is the premier visitor destination in Mendocino County. It is one of the best whale-watching spots on the North Coast and one of the tallest lighthouses (tied with Pigeon Point) on the West Coast. The structure you see today was built after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake destroyed the original.
