Here’s an update on the second of two drawing boats for 2021 Luminary Night, the Shellback Dinghy: The Shellback is coming along nicely, with consistent improvements made weekly. Heritage Boatworks volunteers are using plans designed by naval architect Joel White for the Shellback Dinghy. Joel was the son of author E.B. White, who most famously wrote Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little. The Shellback is a beautiful little clinker planked boat, often used as a tender and towed behind a larger vessel for the ship to shore transport or a small stand-alone sailboat that makes a great beginner watercraft. The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum will select two lucky winners on our Annual Luminary Night. Each winner will receive one of these hand-crafted boats. Tickets are available for purchase on-site. #WoodworkingWednesday #HeritageBoatworks #Boatbuilding #Wood #ShellbackDinghy #LoveYourLighthouse #StAugustineLighthouse #StaLighthouse #NationsOldestPort #StAugustine #KeepTheLightS...
