The Patriot War of 1812 led to the burning of several large plantations along the St. Johns River including those owned by Zephaniah Kingsley and Francis Philip Fatio. Fatio's descendant, Francis Philip Fatio Dunham, served briefly as head Keeper at the St. Augustine Light Station.
