January 25, 1894: A boxing match took place in St. Augustine between Charles Mitchell and Jim Corbett. The Chicago Tribune covered the fight including what both men did to prepare for the fight. Mitchell made use of the Lighthouse tower stairs while Corbett walked the beach near the tower.
