Hey all you cool cats and kittens! It’s #NationalCatDay! Do you know the infamous story of Smokey the cat? Smokey belonged to Wilma Daniels the Keepers daughter. Her bother Cracker Daniels attached a make-shift parachute to Smokey and tossed him 140 feet from the observation deck of the tower. Luckily, only one of his lives was taken that day as he came back to the tower a few weeks later. This story only came to light recently, when siblings Wilma and Cracker visited the tower and Cracker confessed to the deed. #catlore #lighthousehistory #ninelivescatober2020
