I have some BAD NEWS 📰 ❌ Most people are setting goals the wrong way. Most of us set goals that are “realistic” or goals that seem “attainable”. But here is the problem with that… They usually mean “realistic” or “attainable” based on where you are now, instead of who you are capable of becoming. ➡️ Your goals should be so big that they are impossible with your CURRENT capabilities. Because a big goal like that will force you to improve and grow. 🌱 However, If you set a goal that you currently capable of, there will be no need for grow. But worse than that… Your current capabilities will place limitations on the size of the goal you set. ❌ I think it’s better to set HUGE goals, then focus on developing the skills required to accomplish them. 🏆 When I was growing up on the South Side of Chicago, it would have seemed “unrealistic” for me to set the goal to be where I am now.
