Cicadas Emerge From Ground In Illinois
Illinois is currently experiencing an emergence of cicadas from a 17-year brood and a 13-year brood. This rare occurrence hasn’t taken place since 1803. Cicadas, which spend most of their lives as underground nymphs, emerge in predictable intervals of 13 or 17 years, depending on the species and the location. Adult cicadas have a life span of 4-6 weeks. | May 29, 2024 |
