CONSERVATION WORKS: thanks to the help of breeding programs, Chinook Salmon are successfully recovering in the Salmon River basin of central Idaho. π These captive breeding and release initiatives have boosted the natural population of Chinook Salmon with minimal negative impacts on the wild population. On average, salmon taken into the hatchery produced over 4x more adult offspring than wild naturally reproducing salmon populations. π¦
