#NICUawarenessmonth • The NICU is a heavy place. I never imagined motherhood would start there for me • I was exhausted physically and emotionally. Drained. Dealing with a flood of emotions. • Often times I would head down to get lunch and find myself in the elevator with a family getting discharged and be in tears hoping our day was coming soon • I was thrilled when I got the news that it looked like we would be able to spend Christmas at home. Only to learn of a setback days before that crushed me. We made the most of Christmas in the NICU. • Our NICU nurses were phenomenal. Honestly, they were the most incredible part of our stay. I credit them in helping us make it. They went above and beyond. They taught us so much, were a source of comfort and simply amazing at their job • I know many families who had and continue to have much more difficult paths then ours.
