More from our young leaders, leading by example. HON. IAIN RANKIN « » : I would like to recognize Drew Batchilder and Victoria Smith of Prospect. As Halifax West High School students, Drew and Victoria organized a successful blood drive within the school as part of their IB program requirements. In November 2017, Drew and Victoria led an information session on the importance of blood donation as well as a blood-typing event at Halifax West with more than 40 students in attendance. The following week, a total of 17 students were transported to the Canadian Blood Services clinic in Halifax to donate.
