The game will be played at Pachuca’s home Estadio Hidalgo, which is 8,000 feet above sea level. For context, it’s 60% higher than Denver, Colorado. “We essentially installed altitude tents in each of our players’ homes. They asked us to try to spend as much time in those as possible,” Crew’s Head of Sport Science and Medicine Chris Shenberger told Adam King. “Sleeping at night, taking a nap, reading a book in the afternoon in those altitude tents to allow them to start to acclimate prior to us going down to México and playing at 8,000 feet above sea level.” Pachuca are extremely strong at home.
