Soon after Donald Trump was found guilty and became a convicted felon, I met Millicent Abbey. The 64-year-old grandma is a lifelong Democrat who loves Donald Trump. Abbey said Trump could literally shoot and kill someone and she would still vote for him because the person probably deserved it. As for the guilty verdict, she said, “So what? I support Trump. Periodt.” Her husband thinks she’s crazy, but she said she doesn’t care. In a state where genuinely every vote matters, Abbey said she is planning to vote for Trump again in 2024. To her, he is a “strong man” who has “given more money to HBCU’s than any other president.” And, most importantly to her, Trump “wants to get rid of the illegals.” If she had it her way, Trump would be president for life. “Brother Trump, I love you,” she told me.
