#WorldStrokeDay, we celebrate Wanda Reeder, a remarkable member of WMCHealth's MidHudson Regional Hospital family for the past 33 years. 🏥
A life-changing decision, Wanda decided to come to work on a day she wasn’t feeling her best. Thanks to the quick thinking of her supervisor, Jennifer Harrington, Wanda received immediate medical attention when her face began to sag, her words became jumbled, and she struggled to keep her head up.
Wanda was swiftly transported to Westchester Medical Center, the only comprehensive stroke center in Westchester and the Hudson Valley. There, she was seen by neuroendovascular surgeon Fawaz Al-Mufti, MD, who diagnosed her with a massive ischemic stroke.
A true success story, Wanda returned to work three months after her stroke, emphasizing the importance of quick action and quality care. She now leads a healthy lifestyle and is thriving. 👏
