At just six months old, Crystal was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer. Two months after diagnosis, Crystal received a bone marrow transplant. Crystal's life-saving donor: her mother.
Fast forward to today and we are happy to share Crystal is approaching 3 1/2 years of age and remains vibrant and active. Her summer days were filled with activities at camp and, as always, keeping up with her older sister!
Crystal is a happy and healthy preschooler due to the care she received at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. Our Childhood and Adolescent Cancer and Blood Diseases Center is an internationally recognized, multidisciplinary diagnostic treatment and research center.
