What we know of as the Country Fair, back then was called the Lower Fraser Valley Annual Exhibition. This annual event happened in early Fall and looked very different to the event we know and love today. The Fall Fair had showcased many different agricultural/farming/animal exhibits, showcasing everything from machinery to quilting to flowers to preserves/baking to artwork.
The Cloverdale Rodeo made it's debut in 1945 in a Cloverdale farmer's field which formed into a larger event in 1946 once it moved to the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.
In 1996, the Cloverdale Rodeo and the Fall Fair amalgamated into one event, held over the May long weekend, which is now what we know as the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair. 🎡
