#RodeoHistory: Did you know that Cloverdale used to have a Rodeo Jail? Every year a very noticeable jail cell was set up in the middle of town and filled with well known citizens who were arrested for all number of ridiculous reasons by the Sheriff and his pals. You could break out of jail, of course, but you had to pay a fee for your freedom. All funds raised from the Rodeo Jail each year were donated to local charities at the end of the event. The Rodeo Jail is one of several old Rodeo events that no longer take place, but provided plenty of entertainment during its time. Photo Credit: Rodeo parade, May 1972.
