Here’s what I learned from creating/launching iamathlete: 1️⃣ START BEFORE YOU’RE READY. I never wanted to start IAA. Like at all. Aside from it being the height of Covid-19 and my production team at thehouseofathlete was slammed at the time, I didn’t feel like I had enough experience under my belt to pull it off. And I didn’t lol but how else do you get experience like that? By getting thrown into the fire! Now I know exactly what it takes to create a show like that! 🔥 2️⃣ START WHERE YOU ARE, WITH WHAT YOU HAVE. We shot 90% of the first season using the gear the team and I could pool together between us (cameras, tripods, lenses, etc). In fact, the investment in proper equipment wasn’t made until AFTER we put out the first 13-14 episodes of the show. Up until then, we were recording on dslr’s that had 30min record limits (that was fun) and used cheap lights from Amazon to light the set. Fancy equipment is obviously beneficial but what you have in your hands is enough, for now. 3️...
