This week Commonwealth Games Wales (CGW) joined 19 Commonwealth Games Associations (CGA) across Europe, the Caribbean and Africa for the latest eqUIP interactive educational workshop held in Lobaste, Botswana. eqUIP is a Commonwealth wide approach to develop youth leaders through internship and employment opportunities, empowering them to make a positive contribution to their communities through sport. The programme, which has been running since 2014 and has seen 135 interns through the programme, is a paid internship, run in partnership with local universities as part of the Commonwealth Sports Federation (CSF) global development initiative. The programme is led by Commonwealth Games Federation team; Richard de Groen, Ellen Barwise, Ryan Brathwaite and Jeremiah Mpofu who facilitated the workshop for the new interns from across the Commonwealth.
