Diagnosed 20 years ago with Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD), a chronic inflammatory disorder of the sinuses and lungs, Susan turned to Penn Medicine's AERD Center for help and relief. Nithin Adappa, MD, surgical director at the Penn AERD Center, John Bosso, MD, medical director at the Penn AERD Center, and a team of experts provided a series of treatments that prevented polyp regrowth after surgery. The treatments allowed Susan to safely take NSAIDs again and gave her the ability to smell, taste, and comfortably exercise and sleep again. "Thanks to Dr. Bosso and Dr. Adappa, I am able to breathe really well, sleep really well, taste food and smell things,” Susan said.
