This week, we're celebrating the amazing nurses across Penn Medicine. Staff wanted to recognize Matt Emeigh-McBride, who works in the MICU at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center: “Matt accepted the first #COVID19 ICU patient at PPMC in the MICU. This was March 16th and the MICU admitted 4 intubated COVID patients in 3 hours. Two patients from 5S and two patients from the Emergency Department. Two COVID patients were admitted at the same time and without question, Matt took the lead and accepted the first of the two. “His professionalism and dedication to being a role model for his peers was most prominent during the entire COVID crisis, but it was this moment that stood out and demonstrated to leadership and peers that he was willing to take responsibility and set the tone for what would end up being a major moment in the history of this hospital.” Special thanks to Matt and all of our other nurses for everything you do! #PennMedicineNursesWeek #HealthcareHeroes #PennTogether
