I work in Philadelphia as an emergency room nurse in an adult hospital and in the med-surg float pool at a childrenโs hospital. In Philly we were incredibly lucky to not be hit as hard as some areas like NYC. For the most part, we always had enough staff, beds and ventilators to handle the onslaught of COVID patients. Iโve been amazed at how my colleagues who have become sick with COVID have recovered and returned back to the bedside to fight against this microscopic enemy.
Since I work with so many Covid-positive patients I am definitely scared of spreading the virus to my husband...
