SUMMER FUN by Jeanne Thornton is told in alternating chapters. One half of the story is told from the perspective of Gala, who works in a hostel, lives in a trailer, and is obsessed with the Get Happies, a band from the 60s who disbanded before the release of the eponymous album, Summer Fun. The other half are the letters she's writing addressed to the Get Happies' lead singer, Bββ. Letters that she will never send but make an attempt to piece together what happened that led to the band's dissolution.
