#ReconciliationWeek, we want to take the opportunity to highlight the work of our Police Aboriginal Liaison Officers (PALOs).
PALOs are Victoria Police Officers who work closely with our Aboriginal Community Liaison Officers (ACLOs), community groups and Aboriginal communities to break down barriers between police and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Our PALO program is one of the ways we strive for better outcomes for the Aboriginal communities we serve and work towards reconciliation.
In the Greater Shepparton area, on the Traditional Lands of the Yorta Yorta and Bangerang people, there are 15 PALOs who regularly attend community events and participate in working groups.
