The University of Virginia has agreed to a $9 million settlement related to a 2022 campus shooting that resulted in the deaths of three football players and the injury of two students. Attorney Kimberly Wald confirmed that the university will pay $2 million to each of the deceased students' families and $3 million to the injured students. The shooter was identified as former UVA student and football player Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. The release of the report was delayed last year due to concerns about impacting the alleged shooter's trial. #uva #settlement #campusshooting #virginianews2024
