leslieherod, State Representative and #CaringforDenver Board Chair, recently gave a tedxmilehigh talk exploring #Denver’s co-responder and STAR programs, which are funded by Caring for Denver. The co-responder program pairs clinicians from the mentalhealthcenterofdenver with police officers to respond to 911 calls. STAR sends a #mentalhealth professional and a paramedic to some 911 calls to respond to unmet mental or physical needs, connecting people who pose no danger with services and resources and freeing up police to respond to other calls.
