In 2017, Mary Ellen Gillard was shocked when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After meeting with her cancer team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, she opted to have a bilateral mastectomy, followed by radiation and chemotherapy. Today she is cancer-free and enjoying life thanks in large part to her caring medical team.
