Quality care makes a difference when you’re treated right. In celebration of
#NationalCancerSurvivorsMonth, we’d like to recognize two-time breast cancer survivor Linda Tyson. The mother of four was initially diagnosed in 2010 and then again earlier this year following a routine mammogram. Linda recently finished the last of her radiation treatment toward the end of March 2021 after undergoing surgery at the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center.
“I just remember everybody being very professional. Compassionate, knowledgeable nurses and doctors; just a dynamite staff back then as well as now,” Linda said. “I always put God first. You have to have faith that you’re going to be okay. Think positive thoughts. Tell yourself ‘I can do this’ and be strong. I think a big portion of the battle is having a good medical team behind you.”
