At Taconic GC (Williamstown) there is a bunker that took over 80 years to build. Originally imagined by Wayne Stiles in 1927, the massive bunker that sits between the 8th and 11th green, was never completed until 2009. Why exactly the massive bunker was never completed will likely never be known, but one possibility was unearthed during Gil Hanse's restoration of the course: an underground boulder so large that it couldn't be removed with a bulldozer. The boulder was eventually removed to allow for completion of the Monster Bunker.
