The Outback of Joshua Tree officially goes down as my first outdoor bouldering experience. It was instant dehydration hot in the sun and check yourself for frostbite level cold in the shade. The rocks feel like razor blades, break off at random, and apparently a “good hold” in Joshua Tree means you can hold on with more than one finger. Also- the uneven ground makes crash pad placement feel super safe. In conclusion- had the time of my life and will be gym training like wild to come back and do better.
