thegreyareafilm // Silas Baltiero // I met Silas and his Mom, Tiffany, a few years ago when I was looking for a child dancer for a music video. On that music video set, Silas said to me, “Hey. We are going to be really good friends because we are a lot alike and we are also going to get famous together.” When we started hunting for the right kid to play teenage me, I remembered seeing so much of myself in Silas and reached out. Sitting in the casting meeting he said to me, “I’m willing to do whatever uncomfortable thing it takes because this is important.” Today, on his first day on set, we shot a re-enactment scene of a hate note left in my high school locker that threatened my life. He asked me, “Wait. Did this really happen to you?” And I answered, “It happened to me a lot.” He said in the most sad voice, “I don’t understand.
