Caye Caulker Village, Belize // The Split Caye Caulker used to be one Island but in 1961 was hit by Hurricane Hattie and allegedly caused “The Split” dividing it in two. Some villagers say it was hand dredged and a man made feature. Either way, the result is a waterway that splits the east and west ends of the island and a bar called the Lazy Lizard used it as an opportunity to build a jumping platform that seems a lot higher than it looks once you’re at the top. So, one very strong Lizard Juice deep and with the diving grace of an elephant I experienced the split.
