As you may or may not know, Savannah is a city that is literally built upon its dead. In fact, it was once designated as America's Most Haunted City!
Like most older cities, it has had its share of scandals, disease, slavery, famine and fire. The city has burned three times, in 1796, 1820 and 1899. It was spared from being burned down during the Civil War when General Sherman decided to gift it to President Lincoln. People were hanged, shot in duels or fights or otherwise killed unmercifully. Sadly, that's just the way it was back in those days.
