Tour Guide Sully, reporting for duty! It's
#treetuesday furiends!
The gigantic tree behind me is known as the Candler Oak and stands at 54' tall, has a circumference of 17' and a 63" diameter. The average crown spread is a whopping 110'! It's so big that I had to have Mom take my picture across the street so you could see it all!
The Candler Oak is also one of the oldest trees in Georgia - in fact, it's older than Savannah itself! It is located just outside of Forsyth Park on the grounds of scaddotedu 's Ruskin Hall. It has been designated as a Georgia Landmark and Historical Tree by the the Georgia Urban Forest Council.
