Gators aren’t just in Gainesville 😎 “Hey Gators! My name is Claudia, and I am a rising junior studying Public Health on the Pre-Medicine track. I am currently abroad in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, shadowing at the Sisters of Charity Teaching Hospital! Even before starting my undergraduate studies, I knew I wanted to study abroad and experience healthcare spaces outside of the United States. UF has offered a shadowing program in Spain for several years, however, as a native Spanish speaker, I wanted to step further out of my comfort zone and look for opportunities in non-Spanish speaking areas of the world. I am so excited to be a part of the first cohort of students from our university to travel to this country, getting to observe medical providers in a variety of specialties. Since the start of our program I’ve rotated through Pediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology, and Oncology, witnessing incredible providers at work.
